THE PROGRAM OF THE SECOND DAY OF SLOW LIVING - january
29th
Hereby annexed a first draft of the program of the Second day of slow
living and news relating to the year, the Slow Living festival taking place
in New York. We hope that the attendance will be consistent, with many
people with new ideas, willing to spread the benefits of slowing down to
anybody, as slowing down means be better able to control our own time. Only
to ask ourselves questions, it is necessary to slow down. Slow down to
wonder and to go deep, to appreciate small things that daily life offers and
to finally realise that the highest possibly wealth we can profit from are
human relationships. It necessary to slow down to live and possibly to run.
February, 25th 2008 - Worldwide day of slow living
February, 25th - 27th 2008 - Slow living festival, New York
WORLDWIDE DAY OF SLOW LIVING
The Associazione L'arte del vivere con lentezza on February 19th, 2007
organised the first day of Slow Living, welcomed with enthusiasm by citizens
and media. Many initiatives were launched in Italy: from walk around on a
mule in Tuscany to the "slow marathon" in Rome, to the symbolic fines
to
hurried Milanese, up to the Ferrara bike ride, whose only the last riders
won, and the Slow but Happy competition in Trento. More than 100 events at
the same time.
During the second day of slowness, scheduled on February 25th, 2008,
different events will be spontaneously organised in many Italian cities,
simply depending the creativity of people sharing our own idea of a
voluntary and convivial choice, to live better. One single day, a Monday, a
day where it is very hard to start to slow down. Events will be also in
London, Lyon and Jaipur.
And once more in Italy many different cultural and joyful initiatives will
be organised, attended by artists, associations and laymen, all aiming at
stressing once more, through simple events the need to live under more human terms.
The topic is extremely cared for by media, consecrating more and more time
and attention, a sort of suspense for the day, but on the occasion of the
second anniversary, the willingness to slow down will overcome Italian and
European borders to land in New York, where the slowness festival is going
to be held.
SLOW LIVING FESTIVAL
A three day Festival (February 25th, 26th, 27th) during which many different
